Celler de l’Era is a family project which

was started in 2002 in Mas de les

Moreres.  The 72 hectares are located

in the vicinity of Cornudella of Montsant,

on the right bank of the Arbolí river.

 

There are twelve hectares of rolling

terrain, planted with 41,000 grapevines of

different varieties.  Some are local, such

as Grenache and Carignan and some

have been introduced to the region in

recent years, such as Syrah, Cabernet

Sauvignon and Merlot. The vines have

been cultivated intermittently for many

centuries. The ancient dry stone walls

which support tiny terraces known locally

as “marges”, shows the effort to make

the best of any available land in this tough

yet rewarding area called the Priorat.
